Thanks for checking out Golfer Geeks’ comparison of Taylormade Stealth fairway wood vs Stealth Plus.

I’m an avid golfer, a 9.2 7 handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6) and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.

I did the bulk of my testing on the course for this comparison. My driving range was closed often because of near daily rain.

Summary: I didn’t notice any differences in performance between the Stealth & Stealth Plus Fairway woods. They’re both long, forgiving, and easy to hit. Not to mention expensive – like all premium fairway woods these days.

In this comparison of the Taylormade Stealth vs Stealth Plus fairway wood, I discuss my experience with the clubs, unique features and benefits, and my pick for which one I’d buy.

Testing the Stealth & Stealth Plus fairway woods

I spent most of my time with the Stealth and Stealth Plus on the course. And, I used them off the tee all but maybe twice. I don’t hit fairway woods off the fairway well because I don’t put the work in. I carry my 3 wood as a driver alternative when necessary.

Are there big differences between the Stealth & Stealth Plus?

No, I didn’t find any differences in performance.

They were both rocket long and forgiving – especially towards the toe (which is my typical miss).

The Stealth Plus has 175cc head vs Stealth’s 190cc. The 15cc size difference wasn’t noticeable to me, and I like compact fairway wood heads. They look the same at address.

The Stealth Plus also has a titanium face vs the Stealth’s C300 steel. Again – sound and feel were virtually identical to me. Distance was the same – long. Certainly not a big enough difference for any golfer not on a pro tour or who doesn’t earn money from playing golf well.

So, which fairway wood should you buy – Stealth or Stealth Plus?

Get the Stealth Plus if you must have an adjustable hosel. Otherwise, choose the Stealth.

I don’t see the need for everyday golfers to spend the extra $100 for the Stealth Plus. I don’t fiddle with hosel settings on my fairway woods – or driver for that matter, so I’d be happy with the Stealth with a shaft suited for me.

My #1 suggestion is to test before you buy. Either at your local golf store or take advantage of Global Golf’s Utry trial program. I use it and recommend it.
