This is Golfer Geeks’ review of the Cobra LTDx Max driver.
I’m an avid golfer, a 9.2 7 handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6) and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.
I played three rounds of golf and spent two range sessions with the Cobra LTDx Max driver.
Summary: The Cobra LTDx Max driver is one of the easiest-to-hit drivers I’ve ever put in my hands. I’m a mediocre and inconsistent driver and the LTDx Max made me look good off the tee. Plain and simple. I can’t recommend you try this thing strongly enough if you need help with your driving.
In this Cobra LTDx Max driver review, I discuss my experience with the club, unique features and benefits, as well as customer reviews and potential alternatives.

Overview
The LTDx Max driver has even more forgiveness and distance DNA than the LTDx (which is saying something) with a little added draw bias.
It’s incredibly easy to hit, and hit well.
They have three LTDx models: LTDx , LTDx Max, LTDx LS
1) LTDx
- Low spin
- Medium launch
- High Forgiveness
- Slight draw bias
2) LTDx LS
- Low spin
- Low launch
- Medium forgiveness
- Neutral to fade bias
3) LTDx Max
- Low-medium spin
- High launch
- Extreme forgiveness
- Draw bias
Why Consider buying it
I don’t remember having three consecutive rounds where I’ve driven so well as I have with the LTDx Max driver from Cobra. Granted, my driver swing was on. But, this kind of streak is rare for me.
Like the LTDx, it’s long, forgiving, and has exceptional feel and sound. It works really hard to keep you in play, even on marginal swings.
Do yourself a favor and test it for yourself.
Features & Benefits
1) PWR-COR Technology
- Consist of 3 weights. A 14g steel internal weight and 5g external aluminum weight are placed behind the hitting zone to reduce spin and transfer max speed to the golf ball. And, a 15g rear weight helps with high launch and exceptional forgiveness for added distance
2) H.O.T Face Technology
- Stands for Highly Optimized Topology. They use machine learning (A.I.) and CNC milling to optimize face thickness in specific areas to maximize ball speed across a larger area. There are 15 specific zones of varying thickness on the face.
3) Multi-material Construction
- The titanium t-bar chassis is 8.3g lighter and allows them to use 30% more lightweight carbon in the crown and sole plate. This save discretionary weight which they’ve moved low and forward in the head for increased ball speed.
4) CNC Milled Infinity Face
- The face wraps around the leading edge and increases the effective hitting area for more ball speed while still provide a traditional topline.
5) Adjustable Weighting
- 10g and 3g adjustable weights to go from neutral flight bias to draw bias.
Testing the LTDx Max Driver
It’s been many years since I’ve hit driver this well for this many rounds in a row – three rounds, to be exact. Yes, my swing off the tee was good. But, even when it wasn’t, the LTDx Max kept me in play time and again.
I fell in love (all over again) with the feel and the sound of LTDx drivers. They are so fun to hit, and I took lines I normally wouldn’t take off the tee because I was so confident in the result – a good shot into the green.
I did not like returning this club.
Review
Looks: (A)
I gave the LTDx a B+ in my review a few months ago. The looks have grown on me since. I like the head shape and color scheme
Sound/ Feel: (A+)
Exceptional. Cobra has cracked the code and is the best at this right now. My LTDx Max testing has confirmed this.
Distance: (A+)
Plenty long, especially on off-center hits towards the toe.
Forgiveness: (A+)
Superior. Confidence like I haven’t had in a long time with this driver in my hand. And, I’m not a consistent driver.
Flight / Playability: (A+)
Medium-high to high and piercing. It carries forever with a nice little draw. I even hit a couple accidental fades.

The Verdict
The Cobra LTDx Max driver is even more forgiving than the very forgiving Cobra LTDx.
I gave a strong recommendation to the LTDx and I’m giving a stronger one to the LTDx Max if driving is a weakness in your game (like it is in mine).
My #1 suggestion is to test before you buy. Either at your local golf store or take advantage of Global Golf’s Utry trial program. I use it and recommend it.
