Thanks for checking out my Taylormade Stealth 2 driver vs Stealth 2 Plus comparison

I’m an avid golfer, 8ish handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6) and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.

I’ve had the Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 Plus drivers for a few months. I’ve played multiple rounds and had a few practice sessions at home on my mat using my net and launch monitor.

Summary: Though they’re both long and forgiving, I got a more distance and better ball flight on my mishits with the Stealth 2 vs the Stealth 2 Plus. Sound and feel are excellent for both (improved over the Stealth line from last year). And, they’re both gorgeous.

In this comparison of the Taylormade Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 Plus drivers, I discuss my experience with each driver, unique features and benefits, and my suggestions on which you should buy.

Testing the Stealth 2 & Stealth 2 Plus Drivers

I’ve now tested the Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 Plus multiple times head to head on the range, on my mat at home, and on the course.

Bottom line, I could play either, but I prefer the Stealth 2 because it is more forgiving. And, I prioritize forgiveness above all else.

Are there big differences between the Stealth 2 & Stealth 2 Plus?

Not big, but meaningful – The Stealth 2 is more forgiving on minor mishits.

Looks:

Stealth 2(A)They’re identical to my eyes but for the moveable sole weight. The glossy finish on this year’s Stealth 2 has won me over. The red on the sole, face, and crown accent also pops more. At just the right angle, you can see the carbon weave in the crown.

Winner – Draw

Sound/Feel:

Center contact sounds and feels the same – solid and solid.

Winner – Draw

Forgiveness:

I think the Stealth 2 is a little better on off-center hits than the Stealth 2 Plus. But, not a ton.

Winner – Stealth 2

Distance:

Yet again, center contact produced the same distance. Slight mishits were punished more by the Stealth 2 Plus.

Final Verdict on the Stealth 2 vs Stealth 2 Plus Driver

The-Taylormade-Stealth-2-Driver-Stealth-Driver-

They’re both superb drivers, but I require more forgiveness when my swing is off…and it’s off.

Which driver would I get if I were coming out of my pocket?
Stealth 2…It’s a better driver for a mediocre driver like me.

Should you buy the Stealth 2 or Stealth 2 Plus?
See my #1 suggestion below.

My #1 suggestion is to test both clubs before you buy. Either at your local golf store or take advantage of Global Golf’s Utry trial program. I use it and recommend it.
