How to extract multiple RAR files
Do you have a large amount of RAR files to extract and you don’t want to waste time opening them one by one and copying their contents into various folders? Have you downloaded a multi-part RAR archive from the Internet and you are not sure how to extract it? You have come to the right place at the right time.
With today’s guide, we will see how to extract multiple RAR files in various situations. In this way, you can extract files contained in multi-volume archives or speed up your work for free by extracting data from multiple RARs at once. Let’s get started right away!
If you want to know how to extract multi-part RAR files, I recommend installing 7-Zip. It is a totally free program that has nothing to envy to WinZip and WinRAR, it allows you to extract all major formats of compressed archives in an extremely easy and fast way. It supports multi-volume and password-protected archives.
To download the program to your PC, go to its website and click on the Download link located next to the 32-bit x86 entry (if you are using a 32-bit operating system) or next to the 64-bit x64 entry (if you are using a 64-bit operating system). Once the download is complete, double-click on the downloaded file (e.g. 7z920.exe) and, in the window that opens, click first on Yes and then on Install and Finish to complete the installation process of 7-Zip.
Now you have to group all volumes of the archive to be extracted (archive.part1.rar, archive.part2.rar, etc.) into the same folder, right-click on the one with the lowest number (e.g. archive.part1.rar) and select 7-Zip > Extract Files from the menu that appears. Select the folder where the files are to be extracted by clicking the […] button and start the extraction process by clicking OK.
If the archive also includes a volume that does not have numbers in its name (e.g. archive.rar), select it and not files ending with 00 or 01. For more information see my guide on how to extract multi-part RAR files where I explained in detail how to extract files from archives consisting of multiple volumes.
If you want to extract multiple RAR files in the sense that you want to extract files contained in several archives at once, you can try UnRarIt.Net, a free program for Windows that allows you to select dozens of archives in RAR, ZIP and 7Z formats and automatically extract the files they contain to a folder of your choice.
To download it on your PC, connect to its official website and click on the link UnRarIt.msi which is located at the bottom of the page. When you have finished downloading, double-click on the file you have just downloaded (UnRarIt-13.03.10.msi) and, in the window that opens, place a check mark next to the I Agree option. Click on Next three times in a row, then click on Yes and Close to complete the installation of UnRarIt.net on your PC and start the program from its icon in the Start menu or the Windows Start Screen.
Now all you have to do is drag the RAR archives to be extracted into the main window of the program, click the […] button at the bottom right corner to specify the folder where the extracted files are to be saved and click Extract files to start the operation. If one or more archives are password-protected, before starting the extraction process click Add password and type in the necessary keywords to complete the process.
