Preliminary information
Before getting to the heart of the matter, it seems to me necessary to make some clarifications about the possibility of downloading Office 2013 for free.
As you already know (and the fact that you’re reading these lines testifies it), Office 2013 is a paid software. However, as things stand, it is no longer marketed by Microsoft, as it has been replaced by the most updated versions of the program: Microsoft 365 and Office Home & Student/Professional, the ones I told you about in depth in my guide on the subject. Officially, then, the purchase of Office 2013 is no longer possible, at least not directly from the website of the Redmond company.

Everything is done digitally: after purchasing the license from the site, it takes a few minutes and you receive an email that contains both the original license and instructions on how to use it and activate the product: great for both the time saved and the lower environmental impact compared to physical shipping!
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that Mr Key Shop offers free specialized Italian assistance (unlike other similar platforms, which are almost always foreign) and that all products available on the site come with a money back guarantee.
That said, to find out how to buy Office 2013 from Mr Key Shop, connect to this page of the site, select the edition you want to buy, add it to your cart, go to checkout and complete the transaction. Many secure payment methods are supported: PayPal, Amazon Pay and card.
In case you also need to buy a license for Windows, on Mr Key Shop you can find them at very affordable prices, not only for the latest Windows 10, but also for the older Windows 8 and Windows 7.
Anyway, it should be noted that there are three different versions of Office 2013 that include different applications: here you’ll find them listed in detail.
Home e Student: includono Word, Excel, PowerPoint e OneNote.
Home e Business: includono Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote e Outlook.
Professionale: include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher e Access.
Another thing that should be pointed out is the minimum requirements required to run the suite.

Processor: x86 or 64-bit 1 gigahertz (GHz) or higher with SSE2 instruction set.
Memory: 1 GB (32-bit); 2 GB (64-bit).
Disk space: at least 3 GB.
How to download Office 2013 for free
Having said that, let’s get to the heart of the matter and find out what steps you need to take to download Office 2013 for free. Below you’ll find indicated how to download the installation file and the image file to burn to disk.
Installation files
If you’re interested in understanding how to download the Microsoft Office 2013 installation file for free, all you have to do is connect to the section for downloading already registered Office products available on the Microsoft website and log into your Microsoft account by clicking the Sign In button. If you don’t have a Microsoft account yet, you can create one right now by following the instructions I provided in my tutorial on the subject.
Once you have logged in, click on the Next button, enter your Office 2013 product key in the appropriate fields, choose Italy from the Country or region drop-down menu, select Italian from the Language drop-down menu and, finally, click on the Next and Download now buttons. Then wait for the download process to start and complete.
If you have already associated Office 2013 with your Microsoft account in the past, you can download the installation file of the well-known suite in the following way: visit this other web page of the Microsoft website, log in to your Microsoft account by clicking on the appropriate entry, locate Office 2013 in the Services and subscriptions > Installations section and click on the Install button. Finally, click on the Install button on the displayed screen and, again, wait for the download to start and complete.
Please note that by proceeding in the way I have just indicated, you will download the most suitable version for the operating system you are using on your PC (e.g. the 32-bit version). To download another version (e.g. 64-bit), click on the More Options link, specify your preferences using the drop-down menus and click the Install button.
In all cases, once the download is complete, open the .exe file and click the Yes button in the window that appears on your desktop to start the Office 2013 installation process. Next, follow the steps indicated in the step dedicated to the installation and activation of Office at the end of this guide.
Image files
If you are interested in understanding how to download Office 2013 image file for free, you need to use a special software called Windows and Office ISO Download Tool: it is a no-cost program that runs on all Windows OSes, does not require installation and, as its name suggests, allows you to download ISO and IMG files of Windows operating systems and Office packages directly from Microsoft’s servers.
In order to download Windows and Office ISO Download Tool to your computer, visit the program’s website and click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link located under the Download heading in the center of the displayed page.
Once the download procedure is complete, launch the .exe file obtained and, when the window with the advertising banner opens, wait for its countdown to end, then click on the Close button to display the actual program window.
At this point, click on the Office tab located on the right, select the Office 2013 option (also located on the right), use the Select Edition dropdown menu located in the center to choose the Office 2013 edition to download, choose Italian from the dropdown menu below the Select Product Language item and click the Download button.
Once this is done, the default browser (e.g. Microsoft Edge) will open and the Office 2013 IMG file download process will start immediately.
Once you have downloaded the Office image file, you can burn it to a blank CD or DVD, as I explained in my tutorial on how to burn an ISO image (the procedure is also valid for IMG files). Of course, keep in mind that to be able to burn, you must have a burner connected to your computer. If you don’t have one yet and would like some advice on the subject, I suggest you consult my buyer’s guide dedicated to this type of product.
After burning the image of Office 2013 to disk, to install the suite on your computer, leave the diskette in the burner and wait for the automatic startup of the setup procedure (if you have disabled the automatic startup of external drives on your PC, go to File Explorer, locate the icon of the diskette in the left sidebar, right click on it and select the item to start it). If you need to install Office on a different computer, extract the floppy from the burner, insert it in the CD/DVD drive of the other PC and perform the above steps.
After that, the Office installation procedure will start and you can complete it by following the instructions that I will provide in the next step of the tutorial.
Install and activate Office 2013
Now let’s see how to install Office 2013. After displaying the initial screen for program setup on the desktop, check the box for accepting the license agreement at the bottom left and click the Continue and Install buttons. If you do not want to install all the programs from the Office package but only some of them, click the Customize button and select the software you are interested in from the list displayed.
Then, wait for the installation process to start and complete and click the Close button. Now start any Office program (e.g. Word) by calling it from the Start menu or using the shortcut added to your desktop, check the box next to the Use recommended settings in the Important information window that appears and click the Accept button.
To finish, click on the File button at the top left of the program window you have chosen to open, click on the Account item and then on the Activate product item. Next, choose to activate Office 2013 by entering the product key, make sure you are connected to the Internet with your PC, type the product registration code in the window that opens and wait for it to be validated.
Free alternatives to Office 2013
Following my instructions on what to do, you managed to download Office 2013 for free but you don’t have the product key to activate the program, so you can’t use it? In this case, let me give you a little tip: turn to one of the many free alternatives to Office on the market, such as LibreOffice.
In case you haven’t heard of it, it is an open source productivity suite that includes software for creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations, databases and printable content. It is compatible with all Microsoft Office file formats and is available for all major operating systems: Windows, macOS and Linux.
To download it to your PC, go to the LibreOffice website and click on the Download the x.x.x version button.
Once the download is complete, if you are using Windows, open the resulting .msi file and in the window that opens on your desktop, click on the Run button and the Next button. Then select the Typical option, click the Next button again and then the Install, Yes and Finish buttons to finish the setup.
If you are using macOS, open the downloaded .dmg package instead, move the LibreOffice icon to the Applications folder, right-click on it and select Open from the menu that appears. Then click on the Open button in the window that appears on the screen, in order to launch the program and bypass the restrictions imposed by Apple on applications from non-certified developers (this should only be done on first startup).
Then, if you are using a Mac, close the program using the key combination cmd+q, go back to the LibreOffice website and download the Italian translation of the suite (which, however, is already included in the version of LibreOffice for Windows) by clicking on the Translated user interface button.
Once the download is complete, open the additional .dmg package, right-click on the LibreOffice Language Pack executable inside it, select Open from the menu that appears and click the Open and Install buttons. Then select the /Applications/LibreOffice.app entry from the window that opens and click the Install button. If a warning about permissions appears on the screen, click the Yes, identify me button, enter your macOS user account password and press the OK button twice in a row.
From the main screen of the program that you will find in front of you, regardless of the operating system used, you can choose what type of document to create or open existing files. For more details and insights about LibreOffice and its download and installation procedure, please refer to my guide on how to download LibreOffice.
Another totally free alternative to Office 2013 is OpenOffice: this is an office suite very similar to LibreOffice, available for Windows, macOS and Linux and including software for word processing, spreadsheet processing, presentation creation, database creation and creation of printable documents. The operation is very similar to that of LibreOffice (which by the way was born from a “rib” of OpenOffice). For more information, I refer you to read my guide on how to download OpenOffice.
