How to click quickly | Windmill Testing Framework

Do you find that your computer responds particularly slowly when you double-click on a file or folder to open it? You’re not the only one, but luckily there’s a quick and easy way to solve the problem using the operating system settings. It doesn’t matter if you’re using a wired or wireless mouse or a trackpad, the procedure is the same.

So don’t waste any more time and follow the “tips” I’m about to give you and in no time you’ll discover how to click quickly on both Windows and Mac OS X. In this way, you’ll make your computer’s response to mouse clicks more responsive and all your work will suddenly seem faster. Try it to believe it!

If you want to learn how to click quickly on Windows, click on the Start button and select Control Panel from the menu that appears. In the window that opens, go first to Hardware and Sound and then to Mouse to access the mouse (or trackpad, if you’re using a laptop) configuration panel.

At this point, move the indicator of the Double-Click Speed bar to the right to the extent that you want to speed up double-clicking and save the changes by clicking first on Apply and then on OK.

You can test the effectiveness of the new settings right away by double-clicking on the yellow folder next to the bar you just used to adjust the mouse action speed. If the folder opens responsive enough, the job is done. If not, try increasing or decreasing the Double-Click Speed using the Speed Indicator until you reach the settings that fully meet your needs.

Adjusting mouse/trackpad settings for clicking quickly is also very easy on Mac. All you have to do is open System Preferences and, in the window that opens, go first to Universal Access and then to Mouse and Trackpad.

Now, click on the Mouse Options button or Trackpad Options button, depending on the pointing device you use on your computer, and move the indicator of the Double Click Speed bar to the right to the extent that you want to speed up double clicking.

Confirm your changes by clicking the Finish button and test your new settings by double-clicking on a file or folder. If you are still not satisfied with the response time of the command, go back to Mouse Options/Trackpad Options and change the position of the Double-click Speed indicator until you get the desired result.
